Why not let us kick start the year of the snake with this new video we made, just a few weeks ago?
In this video, we made the whole video to be like a story-telling movie, where the bride and groom tells us about how they met, how he proposed, and what they did on the actual day wedding as well.
Please contact Lovebirds Video today to see how we can capture your sweetest moments today!

Lovebirds Video attended Filming Art Cinematography's workshop
On the 18th and 19th of August, the birds have attended a workshop one of the Malaysia's best wedding video company: Filming Art Cinematography.
The number of participants did not even reach 10 people. Actually, is only 7 people to be exact. But I personally think that its good too because more attention is given to the participants.
The workshop environment doesn't look like a typical workshop, its actually inside a bar, look at the photos below and you'll understand what I mean. And its the nice, cozy sofa's that we're sitting on, instead of normal chairs!
We've learned about how to operate the steadycam and the jib crane, and the editings as well. I would definitely need a manfrotto tripod head for the jib crane now in order to get those nice shots as demonstrated by them!
Even Keda.Z, one of the Malaysia's top wedding photographer also came to give a short talk about Fine Art stuffs that we could incorporate into our videos. He also taught about the lighting techniques, something like a 45 degree angle thingy.
Then on the 2nd day of the workshop there was some test given for the partipants of shooting and editing. Well... let just say that I did pretty badly at the end of the day during the critique session, LoL.....
My problem was that I didn't cut out scenes and just put there for too long, which would actually turn into a boring scene. Then the music I edited was like cut offed too suddenly, and lastly it was the ending that doesn't look good. Oh well.
But overall I enjoyed myself in this workshop and definitely learned new stuffs too, will definitely apply the new things that I've learned in my upcoming future shoots.

Lovebirds Video = international
The birds have are back from Singapore, from a wedding dinner reception shoot.
First time doing a shooting overseas! I have a feeling that Lovebirds Video are about to go international sooner than anyone can blink their eyes!
We were at the area where one can see Marina Bay Sands from across the lake, and we even visited the Japanese/Chinese Garden at Jurong area to take some shots at the turtle pond... and even interacted the turtles by annoying them!
Stay tuned for the video soon!

I do it or not?

I'm pretty sure this kind of stuffs happens all the time, which I really don't understand: Why do people still marry if they are going to separate in the end?
Marriage isn't just something that you "Touch N' Go"... it really means forever. You just don't simply say I do just because for fun.
I, for one, believes that trust is the most important thing in a relationship.
Break the trust, everything else will fall right apart.
That's one of the reasons why the birds usually rarely take deposits upon confirmation of wedding shoots... and the couples usually only pays us in full when the final editings with the DVDs are passed onto their hands.
I just hope that all of the couples whom we have the honor to video covered before, and those couples who are about to engage with our services...
... Please stay happy together always and forever.

Photocopying cats?
Funny, recently I've been seeing a lot of people (those who I added as friends in facebook whom are also videograhers or cinematographer as a matter of fact) putting up their "behind the scenes" photos, and it's getting more and more.
I'm not trying to take credit or anything, but I noticed it was after when I myself started to upload my behind the scenes photos, then more and more people are uploading their behind the scenes pictures after some time.
I can swear and guarantee to you before I actually did that, there isn't much behind the scenes photos behing uploaded by other videographer/companies, if there's any at all.
I swear it was after when Lovebirds Video started to upload their behind the scenes pictures, then the rest followed suit.
I could be wrong though; no offense to anyone.

New equipments for the bird's disposal!
Recently the birds have accquired a slider, a steadycam and a new tripod!
... not forgetting a Canon lens 2.8mm - f1.8!!! wooooot!!
We believe by "investing" in these equipments, we are able to provide better wedding videos for our couples!
I've already tried the slider and the steadycam; the slider is really awesome!!! It makes the dolly shots very, very professional, the steadycam is good too, but I suppose I will still need to use it more often and practice to improve my steadycam skills.
Will post up photos soon, stay tuned!

Forgetful...
Well, I've been updating my facebook page with new videos, but I actually forgotten to update this weblog! Awesome right? I know...
It's going to be end of September, and the birds have been very busy on all the weekends of September; besides Lovebirds Video, the natives of Headshot has also been busy with event shoots and a corporate video ;)
Recently the birds have started to use DSLRs to shoot wedding videos, and the depth of field indeed looks very awesome... now if only I can get my hands on the jib crane and the sliders, and also the DSLR microphone, and the 50mm f1.2 (or was it 1.4?) lens... and I almost forgot to mention about the steadycam, and some other video dslr equipments that costs a bomb... @_@''
That's all for now, will be posting videos over at this weblog as well soon. Promise!

Lovebirds Video attended Mayad Academy 2011 in Singapore
New videos are still in the making, but in the meantime, we would like to share with you what happened last week...
The birds have attended "Mayad Academy 2011" in Singapore's Changi Village Hotel, hold by Mayad Studios, the international wedding video specialized production company. It was for 4 days and 3 nights. Well, the first night is just a registration and dinner though...

Notice the white bag is a hot stamp printed with the M in the middle, look closer... and the first picture with the signature of the creative director of Mayad Studios ;)
A lot of people attended this event, and to be honest, a lot of their works are, well, let just say that if we are really to compare with each other, I don't think I would even stand a chance to get just the last in line on itself. Their works are all very, very good. 'nuff said.
Really learned a lot from this workshop, we were taught from the techniques of shooting and to editing. There are even some special invited people to give some talks or Muslim weddings, and branding, and a few more stuffs. Also learned about storytelling, etc etc etc

1st & 2nd pictures is a STEADYCAM full set (with the vest too, really like a SWAT force team!), with LCD screens. I've personally tried wearing it on, and it really is heavy, but with all the strong support at the sides, the movements capture even when we running is still very, very smooth looking. You see videographers wearing full sets like these at soccer matches, go watch ESPN channel...
3rd picture is a slider, you just need to put at one end, and gently push it to the other end, and the footage will look like a tracking shot
4th picture is just a few stabilizers equipments from the participants.
5th picture is a portable crane, its actually a normal tripod, and the crane is being mounted on it. And it's easy to assemble too from what I see them doing.
Really a lof of ideas and techniques are shared, and it's definitely very useful to be applied for our future works. Was also taught about the equipment used, and they even had a short mini live demo of how Mayad Studios shoot a wedding!
Then there is a critique session where we can show our videos to the very creative director of Mayad Studios, well, for comments, obviously. We also exchanged some business cards with other participants and made friends with each other :D

The creative director of Mayad Studios giving comments/critiques to Lovebirds Video's works...
At the third day, we were divided into groups to had a small shoot for a competition. The group I was with actually won the first prize, and actually most of the shots in the video are not from mine anyway, is mostly from Yiewin Kang from Filming Art Cinematography, very popular cinematography company in Malaysia :p and the "best" thing is I didn't know that until when we added each other on facebook, and when I happen to saw his profile details then I only realized he's from Filming Arts Cinematography, and he is the director too... LOL...
We were also given t-shirts that beared Mayad Academy 2011 on the front, also received certificate of participation from Mayad Studios, and is really signed by the Mayad people on the spot as we witnessed it, instead of the typical "ready-printed" signatures.
The birds are now considering to use DSLRs for our future shoots... and is also looking for future potential partners to shoot videos together, instead of just doing everything all by myself for all these years.
I also hope to shoot Muslim & Indian weddings too... 1 Malaysia!!!!
